There are different types of fire extinguishers that are used regarding the type of fire that is likely to occur.
Class A Fire: Ordinary combustible material such as wood, cloth, paper, rubber and plastics
Class B Fire: Flammable and combustible liquids such as greases, tars, oils, gasoline, paints and solvents, alcohols, acetone,etc
